Through a physical conversation between two mediums - of painting and of the body through dance - this piece challenges the idea of “The holy”. Tabasom asks whether the holiness of painting might be tackled by movement, and what remains afterwards? What are the expectations of these mediums? Which is the true medium, the artist, the painting or the dance?

This work was an intervention in the event of the launch of the book "Woman, Life, Freedom" Voices and Art from the Women’s Protests in Iran by Malu Halasa, editor of anthologies on Middle Eastern art and culture.
Suvashun is the title of a 1969 Persian novel by Iranian writer Simin Daneshvar. It is the first novel in Persian written by a female author. it means “mourners of Siyâvash” and refers to an important ritual associated with the ancient Iranian hero where people mourn the death of the innocent hero, Siyavash, who was killed unjustly.

This piece was developed within the themes of destruction, intersectionality, and systemic hierarchies. Destruction, as a thematic focal point, serves as a metaphorical lens through which the performance examines the dismantling of established structures, and ideologies, utilising live painting.
